@cicerone imposter,
vonny, Helluva bat pic. Sometimes I think about the photographers. What kind of patience and luck does it take to get a picture like that?

c.i., That looks like a fruit bat. Why it's hanging around town in the middle of a busy street will remain a mystery. Thanks for the pic.

I googled "colorful fish" and found this. Sorry I don't know what it is, but it's a doozy.

@Roberta,
Those huge bats hang from tall trees, and the one I took on a busy street near Tanah Lot was on display for tourists - like me! LOL

@Rockhead,
Maybe the mouse saw the owl's shadow and ran to safety - or perhaps the flash of the camera startled him and he ran ..... I hope so!

I feel compelled to say something about predator and prey. Vonnie, what about the picture you posted of the bird feeding its baby. It's feeding that baby an animal. What if the photo was of the owl feeding its cute fluffy owl babies.

Yes, I'm being a pain in the patoot (what else is new). But predators hunt and kill to survive. And the prey either escape, or they don't.

Gotta agree with RH. Don't wanna see it. But it happens. It's life. It's nature. I'm done.

@Roberta,
I always see both sides! Feel for the hunter - and feel for the prey!

I did some digging and,from the photographer's web site,she lists it under Shires.They have a "beard" under their chin,whereas,from the pics I've seen,Percherons don't.Waiting confirmation from my horsey friend Daren.
Masterstroke's pic is at the bottom of this page....

@Barry The Mod,
Beautiful animals aren't they? Alaska must agree with them, they look as if they're in excellent condition.
