@vonny,
pigs stay cute until theyre about 250 pounds, then, all of a sudden, they begin to look like cuts of meat.
Trust me on this, we hadda keep some young pigs once cause the kids were all attached to em as pets. Then all of a sudden they got to be these huge big gross looking tubs of ribs and chops.
We gave em away to a farmer in Berks County who swore that "he wouldnt kill em".
They strangely enrolled in some swiniversity overseas and decided to stay in EUrope.

NEVER make pigs a pet, they are about as pet-like as are wildebeest puppies.

@farmerman,
Poor pigs - sorry, but I find all animals beautiful to some extent. I once arrived back at a friend's farm after a gymkhana just as a sow farrowed - the mother pig and her babies were truly wonderful to see, as was the whole process of the birth. I wouldn't care to be locked in a pen with an angry boar, but I could never dislike any animal - just not in me!

@Roberta,
You got me again, Birdie. I was tearing and had to sob at the end.
Again.
Also, I could see it - I can't usually see the youtube videos but sometimes the site lets me.

@vonny,
osso, Birdie? Okey dokey. Can't tell you how many times tears well up when I watch this. I think I'm over it. Maybe.

vonny, I'm assuming that the cutie on the left is Clementine. And the brownie on the right with the great face is Oliver. I love dem dawgs. Thanks, kid.

When you google "the most beautiful animal in the world," you get a bunch of felines, some horses, boids, Ava Garder, and a photo of Liz Taylor. I believe that the following leads the pack:

@Roberta,
The birdie just flew out of my typing fingers, I left it because I sort of liked it.

I watched another video of the race (cbs, I think) with two commentators talking, less good photography, but also interesting. The one I've watched on my own or through you on this thread is the one with (is it japanese?) writing at the start, and Chris (Anderson?) calling the race.

@ossobuco,
vonny, No question Clementine is a cutie. But Oliver's face is too much. Too much. BTW, the site had more tigers that any other animal. Not my choice. What would I choose. Can't choose.

osso, When you have a name like Roberta, you become accustomed to nicknames. I was briefly called Birdie in my childhood. That was a race for the ages.

Here's the famous picture of Ron Turcotte turning around wondering, "Where the hell is everybody?"

@Roberta,
That would be a trip to ride on a horse like him. I wonder what the actual difference in mph is between him and a decent rope horse.
