@tsarstepan,
See that one at the top of the S just to the right of the girl's head, the one driving the red scooter. I think it has bird flu.

@tsarstepan,
JTT, What a sharp eye you have. And if that one has bird flu, by now they all do. So much for ducks in the pond.

tsar, Excellent reptile. His eye gives the appearance of wisdom. Are lizards wise? Quien sabe?

I saw a sparrow hopping around on the sidewalk today. Love dem sparrows. Here's a russet sparrow:

No vacancy: All nests appear to be taken on Bass Rock, the world's largest single-rock gannet colony, in Scotland's Firth of Forth. Gannets return with the same mate and often use the same nest each year.

@ossobuco,
That would be so cool to raise a baby elephant.

@ossobuco,
Ooooooh. I want a baby elephant. I've wanted one since I was a kid. My mother said no. Now I say no. It can't hurt to want.

Love dem boids, osso. Great shot.

Paul the Octopus got all his predictions right during the 2010 World Cup. But can his feat be matched? Several animal oracles are doing their best to run the slate during this year's European Football Championship tournament. And so far, three of them have a perfect record. All hail the otters!

@snood,
firefly, Glad you like the moth. There are some spectacular moths. Who knew? I didn't until I started looking around for pictures for this thread.

snood, Glad to see they're keeping the gawgeous PC cool. Hey, people in India. Splash some cool water in my direction. Hot as a sauna here.

Every dog I ever knew liked to stick its head out of the car window. Why? Dunno.

Edit: I just looked it up on google. Some folks think it's because they can pick up a zillion smells as they're riding along. It's like a sensory thrill a second. Some folks think it's because they don't like the interior scent of a car. Still other folks think they do it because it's just plain fun.

@Roberta,
Also, for an animal without sweat glands, the cooling effect of the wind must be wonderful.

@Thomas,
Well, not here in Abq when it's 99 and the car is air conditioned... or am I right on that? Roger has now ridden with her in his car more than I have with both of them, or she in mine.
I think it is presently unclear about Katy and the window. She likes the window air. She likes human shoulders including mid car. She is engaged with the ride.
She positively despises going out in mid day heat to the back yard unless it is for a quick pee, and she revolts just out the door if gusty winds are going on. In other words, when it is wildly hot or windy, she foregoes caring about possible lurking barking dogs in the hood.

And it's only June.
