@ossobuco,
JTT, Muchas gracias for the hummingbird pics. Exquisite little boids.
Osso, Glad you like the big PC pic. They are stunners, and I remember that Diane said she thinks they have the most beautiful of larger cat faces. What do you do if you encounter one? Don't turn your back and run. This applies to most four-legged predators. You trigger their run-after you response. Try to make yourself look big. Make noise. That's all I remember. A rattlesnake? Depends on how close you are. If you see one slithering across the road, don't do nuttin'. Just stay away. If you're within striking distance, don't move.
Rogie, bubbele, Florida panthers are not the same as mountain lions. It's a difference similar to that of Siberian tigers and Bengal tigers. Both striped PCs, but not the same. These days, you may be closer to right than you used to be. In order to keep the Florida panther from going extinct, scientists imported some of the western variety. So now they're a mix.
As for the big cat issue, you are right oh almost all-knowing donkey. The PCs considered to be big cats are lions, tigers, leopards, and jaguars. (Sometimes I scare myself. What is all this info doing in my failing brain? I need to make room for other stuff.)
