@msolga,
I agree with your view on Zoo's.It also reminds me that I've not been to London Zoo for almost 20 years.As soon as the weather man can forecast sun,I feel a photo-shoot coming on.Meanwhile here's a Brit robin....

@JTT,
Yes.

I tend to avoid zoo photos as a constant diet to post, but I do it when I plain old like a photo past all that.

@msolga,
A great example of why we need Zoo's.When was the last/first time you saw a baby pigeon in your back yard?They always just look like pigeons.

@Barry The Mod,
Oh ...... about six months ago? A bit longer, maybe?

I used to have a pigeon pair who called my backyard home.

I don't know where they went.

I've even been involved in zoo design, not as design project manager (thank you) but in that case as a 'suit' at the table. It's probably how I got to be closer pals with my later business partner, and bitterer about some zoos. Well, never mind. Let's say I mentally support good effort.

@Rockhead,
My pigeon pair used to bicker with each other (a bit of marital stress, obviously Wink ) ... then they'd make up & be cooing & doving in the most over-the-top way! Laughing

Fascinating, watching those two.

@ossobuco,
I like some of the new-ish features of the Melbourne zoo. Actually they've been in place for quite a time now & there may have been further such developments, I'm not sure ....
The viewing public in the "cages" (or caged walk-ways) ... & the animals roaming a lot more freely that they would have, years ago.

Nothing sadder that seeing a large creature, like a lion, pacing, pacing, pacing in some restricted enclosure. Or an obviously depressed ape stuck in a small concrete enclosure. Sad
