Well, here's a photo I was thinking of not posting, but I'm taken with the poor cat and hopeful for it.

I had a roommate, but I ate her: Meow, a 2-year-old, 39-pound kitty, is cradled by the deceptively strong veterinarian Dr. Jennifer Steketee at the Santa Fe (N.M.) Animal Shelter. The corpulent cat arrived at the shelter after her elderly owner could no longer care for her. Meow will soon be going on a special diet so she can lose weight gradually."
