I could not post it here, but my link takes you to a brand new baby penguin. I guess it's a day old.

@Ceili,
Ceili. Love it. That otter is one smart cookie. He fits under the fence. The dog doesn't. Thanks mucho.

@ossobuco,
He was the runt of the litter.The others bit him all over and his ears are a little scarred but his new home with Lauren is secure so his future looks great.

I can understand why some folks don't like seeing dogs in a war situation.Count me in.But here's yet another story....
http://i1001.photobucket.com/albums/af138/barrythemod/To%20Forward/uxC9d.jpg
U.S. Marine Staff Sgt. Derick Clark, a kennel supervisor with Headquarters and Service Company, 2nd Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment, comforts Yeager, an improvised explosive device detection dog, as they wait for the beginning of a memorial service in honor of Lance Cpl. Abraham Tarwoe, a dog handler and mortarman who served with Weapons Company, 2nd Bn., 9th Marines, here, April 22, 2012.
Tarwoe, who became Yeager’s handler in July 2011, was killed in action during a dismounted patrol in support of combat operations in Helmand province’s Marjah district, April 12.

@hingehead,
Barry, Who's Lauren. She's lucky to have Ralph. And vice versa, I assume. I'm hoping that Yeager gets another handler. Sad, sad.

HH, Those are some doozy pics and animals. I know that the first and last animal are one and the same. And I know it's a primate. But what is it. Also, it shouldn't bite it's nails. Is that butterfly on a bubble? Great shot. And the unborn dolphin. Wow. Thanks muchisimo.

Didg, love the first sea otter photo.

Well, here's a photo I was thinking of not posting, but I'm taken with the poor cat and hopeful for it.

"I had a roommate, but I ate her: Meow, a 2-year-old, 39-pound kitty, is cradled by the deceptively strong veterinarian Dr. Jennifer Steketee at the Santa Fe (N.M.) Animal Shelter. The corpulent cat arrived at the shelter after her elderly owner could no longer care for her. Meow will soon be going on a special diet so she can lose weight gradually."
