@MontereyJack,
I was perplexed, indecisive, whether to make it the britishy gambolling or the u.s. version. I've always liked double l's.

@hingehead,
osso, Wonderful lamb and wonderful alpacas. Thanks mucho.

Hey, MJ, If they're put out, so be it. Gamboling is allowed anywhere you damn please.

JTT, When I wanna say pronk, I say pronk. Antelopes are pronking all over the planet. I want a springbok to spring. So shoot me.

Hey Roger, I love learning a new word. I knew pronking, but stotting is a new one for me. So the sprinkbok springs, pronks, and stots. It's a multitasker. Thanks, kid.

HH, You're outdone yourself with the fauna aerial stuff. Wonderful pics. WONDERFUL. And the thudder is just that. What a cutie. Not sure I like the idea of domesticating those animals. Although I confess your selections are supoib. Nothing like taking a meerkat for a walk in Central Park. Letting it dig for scorpions by the Empire State Building. Great book suggestion. I'm sure that Barry would love it.

Elephants don't spring, pronk, or stot. Fact is, they don't jump at all, but they can move pretty well (25 mph):

@Barry The Mod,
Soz, I greatly appreciate the thud alert. There's only so much thudding a person can handle. Too cute. And the little guy reminds me of an old favorite animal of mine--Morton the pygmy hippo at the Bronx Zoo. I loved Morton and was convinced that he recognized me whenever I showed up. When I went to the zoo and he wasn't at his usual enclosure, I hunted down a zoo keeper and asked about him. They got him a girlfriend and moved him to an enclosure that was more private. I found him. He seemed happy. Smiling as I type. Thanks, mucho, kid.

osso, Not only too cute but some suspense. Loved it. Thanks.

Barry, Please let us know how you like the book. If you give it a good review, I may give it a try. Enjoy.

Speaking of pygmies, here's a pygmy marmoset:

Be very, very careful before you follow this link, Roberta. It's to a program called "Too Cute" on Animal Planet, which, having only basic cable, I'd never seen until Comcast featured them yesterday. The title is accurate. Use only under a doctor's supervision. Make sure you have plenty of pillow on your floor. Use in moderation, a dosage of no more than one per day is recommended.
