@Barry The Mod,
dj, Today's B&O make up for yesterday's B&O. I wanna touch that bunny. And I want to wave to the otter.

firefly, Nudibranchs (aka sea slugs) are gloriously colorful with fantastic, surreal shapes. Whenever I'm at a loss as to what to post, I look up sea slugs. Tres beautiful. Thanks for the new contribution.

Barry, A cat that says "cat"! I'm awestruck. Amazed. Astonished. And smiling. Thanks for finding that little cutie. As for the g'night cat, you've outdone yourself cutewise. That's deserving of a thud with a bounce.

Shoulda mentioned that there's a difference between miniature horses and ponies.

At the other end of the horse spectrum is one of the larger breed, the shire. Dese guys is big:

@Roberta,
That reminds me of Piffka's horse. I suppose there are not photos left on a2k of him. Wonder if I have one (I met her a couple of times in Seattle, passing through to Idaho or New York from my area in northern california. Quite a wonderful woman/a2k person).

@djjd62,
Omugi has such a great expression on his face, it makes me want to come up with some caption. Bunny seems at peace.

I suppose that's an idea, animal captions as a thread. But I'm comfortable with this thread.

have seen lots of rabbit tracks this past winter, and working around the yard i've been seeing rabbit droppings, hoping to maybe find a nest of bunnies, i used to find a couple every spring but the neighbours cats seems to have scared them away the last few years, but there are less cats around

if i find a nest, i'll carefully get a pic

Morning New York.A little news story I stumbled upon from August 2009....
A Pet Cat Has Caught The Same Bus Regularly For Four Years.
http://i1001.photobucket.com/albums/af138/barrythemod/To%20Forward/Casper_cat.jpg

Casper, which is 12 years old, boards the No3 service at 10.55am from outside his home in Plymouth, Devon, and travels the entire 11-mile route before returning home about an hour later.

On the route, the cat passes an historic dockyard and naval base, a city center, several suburbs and the city's red light district.
He has been making the journey for so long that all First Bus drivers have now been told to look out for him to ensure he gets off at the right stop.

Susan Finden, 65, a care worker who is Casper's owner, said: "Casper has always disappeared for hours at a time but I never understood where he was going.I called him Casper because he had a habit of vanishing like a ghost. But then some of the drivers told me he had been catching the bus.
I couldn't believe it at first, but it explains a lot. He loves people and we have a bus stop right outside our house so that must be how he got started - just following everyone on.
I used to catch the odd bus too so maybe he saw me and got curious what I was doing.
Casper is quite quick for his age so he just hops on to the bus before the doors close. He catches the 10.55am service and likes to sit on the back seat."

Rob Stonehouse, one of the drivers on the route, said: "He usually just curls up at the back of the bus. Sometimes he nips between people's legs but he never causes any trouble."

Casper has traveled an estimated 20,000 miles but Mrs Finden says because he is getting old the drivers often have to shuffle him off at the right stop.
A spokeswoman for First Bus said the firm has put a notice up in the office asking them to look after the non-paying passenger.

Casper has since passed over.

@Barry The Mod,
dj, A bowl full of ice cream is a very common thing. A bowl full of bunny--rare and wonderful. You're gonna take a picture of real-life in-the-flesh bunnies? Be still my heart. I hope you're not just teasing me.

Irish, Cocks-of the rock (plural?) are strangely wonderful looking birds with great colors. Thanks for both pics.

Barry, Loved reading about Casper. Cats are sometimes idiosycratic. I mean that in a good way. Thanks for the g'night dog. A nice change of pace and a sterling picture.

@Roberta,
if i can, haven't seen any nest yet, but the rabbits appear to be frequenting the back yard again (our neighbours rogue cats have kept them away for a number of years, the last time i saw nests, the cats dug it up and killed two bunnies)

@djjd62,
In between the dire news on Japan (Richter 9 earthquake, huge tsunami, worsening radioactivity in vicinity of Fukushima Daiichi reactors) we managed to discover this cutie: it's a tiny field rat (held by a human wearing white gloves) who became protected, stopping a DoE order to strip tons of Colorado earth:
