Francis, Gorgeous heron; gorgeous picture. Thanks, kid.
And the lion shall lay down with the lamb. Not exactly, but close. Beautiful felines. Merci encore.

Irish, I don't know why we humans continue to try to come up with things that are squirrel-proof. I'm more than halfway to believing that there is no such thing. Wonderful shot.

firefly, Thanks for the cuteness warning. You prevented a possible fainting spell. The lambs are lovely, gentle adorable creatures. Thanks.

dj, Is the first otter sniffing chocolate? Don't do it, O! One bite and you're hooked for life. The bunny looks pissed. And the second otter looks demented. What's happening to the animals!?

RH, Thanks for the bump. This thread has been misbehaving.

osso, Love dat wolf. Such a lupine pumim. Thanks, kid.

Gerenuks. They eat the higher vegetation by standing on their hind legs:

These animals have gorgeous faces:

dj, Interesting B&O today. Thought the bunny didn't have ears. Then I saw a part of a floppy one. Otter--eyes closed, tongue sticking out.

Saw one of those animal hoarder shows on the Animal Planet. Somebody has a lot of bunnies. I mean A LOT of bunnies. They ate the house. But each and every one of them was cute.

the next episode of David Attenborough’s Life Stories is up, this time it's the Kiwi

David Attenborough tells us New Zealand had several species of flightless bird living across the islands, all of which are now extinct, bar one. The Kiwi has become one of those species iconic of the country, like the Koala to Australia, the Giraffe to Africa and the Alpaca to South America.

Baby Platypii

When a preserved example was shown in England the finders were accused of sewing different parts of an animal together...when asked to show evidence of this sewing, the detractors said it had been done very carefully .

dj, That kiwi is cute. Fuzzy. I like that guy.

Ionus, Those baby platypuses are also cute. I could see where someone might think that a platypus is a sewn-together, not-quite-right animal. Nature comes up with some amazing stuff.

@Roberta,
I love the deer standing up. But it's not the lion will lay with the lamb. It is the wolf that will dwell with the lamb. It's Isaiah 11:6:
Quote:
The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.

djj I am not buying there even is an evil otter!

@Arella Mae,
dj, As always thanks for the bunnies and the otter.

Arella Mae, Thanks for the info re the lion and the lamb. Somehow it's become part of the lexicon even though it's wrong. Go figure.

firefly, Love dem koalas. Thanks, thanks, and thanks again.
