Yes, that's a tail. The tire tracks I can't account for. But I do see a Cheerio. Who the hell knows what's going on in the woods.

Wallabies find dry ground after Charlie's Creek reached its peak for a second time in January in Chinchilla, Queensland, Australia. Sixteen people have been confirmed dead and 53 are still missing after devastating floods in the Lockyer valley. Evacuations took place this week in several towns and suburbs in and around the state capital of Brisbane as the waters surged downstream. The Queensland premier, Anna Bligh, referred to the flood crisis as the worst natural disaster the state had experienced and warned that clean-up and rebuilding costs could reach an estimated A$5bn (£3.1bn) Photograph: Getty Images/Getty Images

Eleven-week old Ranga was born healthy but recently keepers were shocked to discover he had lost the use of his back legs. It is feared that the youngster's mother Cindy may inadvertently have injured the cub, leading to the paralysis. In a bid to get the young cub's legs working again keepers at the zoo have embarked on a careful course of physiotherapy.

Irish, I won't come as a great suprise to you that I'm always rooting for the bull. And I suspect that St. Anthony is spinning in his grave as a horse must jump over a fire with sparks flying everywhere. Hey, Tony! I'm wicha, kid.

Over the last three years, Pilley has taught her proper names for 1,022 objects, all of which she remembers. Human researchers testing her couldn't match her memory skills and had to label the items in order to recall the names."

@ossobuco,
osso, Thanks for the pic and the link. I've read about this dog. Pilley was working with the right breed. And I suspect that if other people put in the time and training that he did, there would be other dogs with big vocabularies.

I've always felt in my gut that animals were smarter than we gave them credit for. And that they had emotions we didn't give them credit for. Not all animals. But many.

Regardless of my views, the fact is that Chaser is a genius. Wow. Good face on that canine, too.

@Roberta,
Doggie smiles even from the brightest..
Pilley seems quite guy too.

Hmmm, the pacc was bright, and he smiled.

Well, I think smile capability has to do with anatomy, but maybe anatomy is related to smiles.

MINIATURE HORSES: Thumbelina, currently the world's smallest horse, now stands at just 17 inches tall and weighed just 9 pounds at birth. Her extraordinary size has been linked to dwarfism, making her a miniature of a miniature. Because Thumbelina's legs are proportionally smaller than her body and head, she has to wear orthopedic fittings to straighten out her small skeleton. Thumbelina is seen here in October 2006.

Holy moley, tsar and Arella Mae, Those are small horses. And very cute, too. With horses that small, I'm surprised I haven't seen people in NYC walking their horses. It must be the housebreaking issue or some kinda pet law.
