Emperor penguins could be virtually extinct by the end of the century due to global warming.
http://www.impactlab.net/2009/01/27/emperor-penguins-march-toward-extinction/
Latest predictions based on climate change models show their numbers dropping 95 per cent by 2100, meaning there would be only about 600 breeding pairs left.

@Arella Mae,
This bug works for trade. Whatever it kills, it eats.

@djjd62,
New discovery in neuroscience of dogs, chimps, birds, even humans: you need empathy in order to yawn; that's why it's contagious. I'm not making this up - the issue is suddenly a hot topic as a possible early-warning mechanism in detecting mad bombers and assorted lunatics. Get ready for yawning cops Smile

Oops, that line was to do with the Emperor penguins being under threat from climate change. They were my thoughts and not those of the black jaguar cub.

Had a little snow, have you, dj? Gorgeous pics. Glad the birds have something to eat.

High Seas, I've had birds. Don't recall a yawn. Trying to figure out how to tell you that your post made me yawn without your thinking I thought it was boring. I guess I'm empathetic.

Irish, Beautiful dove. Does that marine mammal have something for me? He shouldn't have.
