@Izzie,
I had always thought a "bleeding heart pigeon" was one of the most unique of pigeons, but I guess not. Does that white one really have purple feet? He is breathtaking.

@msolga,
LOL! It took me awhile to realize the focus of the picture was the snake! I was thinking that's the ugliest and strangest rhinoceros I have ever seen! Shocked

@msolga,
Okay.............wait. Is that a snake coming out of a tree trunk or is that really an ugly rhinoceros with a tongue that looks like a snake? Sheesh! I need better glasses.

This is a charming photo (via SF Chronicle) of a tough situation..

Another via the Chron -

(This reminds me of an article I read earlier today about the fungus that is decimating bats in the north east of the US, very sad.)

and another -

We had one of these in a shrub outside our gallery's back door - such a cutie.

@ossobuco,
Arella Mae, You've confused me. I'm not sure what picture you're referring to. There's a picture of a snake. And there's a picture of a rhino. But there's no snake in the rhino pic and no rhino in the snake pic.

osso, Glad to see the Easter Bunnies are keeping dry. If the background didn't look so rural and if the caption didn't say where it was, I would think it was the middle Atlantic states. We're drowning here.

Love the bat/woim pic.

That frog seems to be smiling. A cutie.

Butterfly (sorry I don't know what kind):

@ossobuco,
ossobuco,
I can't imagine that rabbits are natural born swimmers. And that bat is soo cute. It's a shame no one is teaching her to chew with her mouth closed.

@Roberta,
Osso,

I was referring to msolga's picture of that rhinoceros. The post is 3,947,751. I hit the reply button but the picture didn't reply with the post so I guess I did something wrong to cause it to not show up.

I can see that it is a rhinoceros now but yesterday had the hardest time figuring out what it was! I think it was before I had coffee. Embarrassed

Someone just sent me an email with the most amazing photos of a mother horse that had just given birth and her baby walked around and actually laid in her lap. But, when I saved the pics they save in bitmap and I don't know how to put them on here so y'all can see. Anyone know how?

@Arella Mae,
Hmm can you toss it onto youtube?

PS This thread continues to be great - a refuge from a troubled world! Smile

@jespah,
I hadn't thought of that. I am not sure I can do it from work but I will try. If not, I'll get them on there from home later.

Learned something new today! If I right clicked on the pics and then clicked on edit an editing program pops up and I can save the pics as .jpegs! So, here they are.

This is a newborn offspring of Taskin, a Gypsy Stallion owned by Villa Vanners of Oregon . These pictures were taken immediately after his birth on April 6. The mare laid down, and then he trotted around and crawled right up into her lap. Talk about true love!

A zebra finch is seen in this undated handout. Scientists have cracked the genetic code of a songbird for the first time, identifying more than 800 genes linked to song learning in a finding that may shed light on human speech disorders. Baby zebra finches learn to sing in virtually the same way as human babies learn to speak - by copying their elders - which means the tiny bird should serve as a valuable model for understanding human learning and memory.
