@djjd62,
I'll have to look at that again.. I think I took it as a Baby Ruth too. Well, the squirrel was no butterfingers.

This friend of many years, dear to my heart, sends me animal videos from time to time and I send her some of the good ones on a2k. Alas, she doesn't really know how to do links or bcc, so I always get this giant list of email addresses with mine included, aaargh. I explained once at some length a few years ago, but she didn't catch on. Luckily none of her associates seem to be spam senders. Oh, and she doesn't send me dumb saccharine ****.

@tsarstepan,
Time for some SF Chronicle Day in Pictures -

I saw this first one yesterday and found it so touching I couldn't post it at the time:

"You can do it, baby! Four-day-old Dimas is halfway home as he tries to stand up by himself at the Tierpark Berlin-Friedrichsfelde Zoo."

"Now be a good kid and kiss your mother: A baby angora reaches up to do just that near Miles City, Mont."

This one reminds me of my xbusiness partner's horse, but that one was only seventeen hands..

"Aww, you big, ol' lug: Luscombe Nodram, better known as Noddy, may be the world's largest horse at 20.2 hands and 1.5 tons, but to his owner, Jane Greenman, he's just an oversized pussycat. The Shire horse, which lives in Melbourne, is one of only about 2,000 left in the world. Of those, very few are gray."

(Noddy, now there's a good name)

Well, that was a selection from yesterday's photos. Back if I find any more from today.

osso, Love dem squirrels. Obstacle course was amazing. The urban rodent knows his candy. Great to see.

That little elephant is wonderful. Most herbivores stand up fairly quickly. Interesting that it took the elephant more than a day.

All the pics are wonderful. Thanks, kid.

@Roberta,
Hey, Robbie..

On the elephant, I think that's what stopped me yesterday, I did an empathy thing with the struggle.

More to post from today's SF Chron. (I thought I had wrinkles..)

"When you don't have any, borrow: A Sphynx dresses up for a cat exhibition in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan."

So, here's another photo (I presume, haven't checked the situations) of the alpaca on a surfboard - viva el Pisco!

"Put a camelid on it: Peruvian surfer Domingo Pianezzi can teach anyone to surf, even an alpaca named Pisco. (San Bartolo beach in Lima.)"

Now, from Florida -

"An eagle on 17 wows the crowd at Pine Oak: A juvenile bald eagle lands near the 17th hole with an 18-inch catfish that it captured in a pond during the first round of the Pine Oaks Invitational in Ocala, Fla. Spectators and competitors alike watched the bird devour its lunch."

@ossobuco,
osso, Is that what cats look like under the fur? Holy moley.

Those Tibetan mastiffs get mighty big. If they wanna stick their tongues out, I say let 'em.

The alpaca pic was posted a few days ago. Not sure how happy the alpaca is, but the kid is amazing. Apparently he can teach anything to surf. Of course, he hasn't met me.

Grooming is a major social thing for primates. And, yes, de bugs is gone. A snack for the groomer and one less itch for the groomee.

@Roberta,
Yeah, these pigs have great lives. Instead of hidding in a mud hole they use the beautiful sands of the Bahamas:

Francis, Beach pigs? I hope they use sun screen.

Letty, Too cute. Do you know what size they get to? If they stay small enough, they could be pets.

I entered "sea lion swimming" in Google. Here's what I got:
