Has this guy shown up, yet? Sometimes called Canadian Jay or Colorado Jay, we mostly call them camp jays or robber jays. They steel food right out of your bowl, which is really a cheap price for the entertainment they provide.

My cousins and I saw a covey of quail, many quail, atop the block wall that divides the strip of landscaping along Unser Boulevard (and the petroglyph area across the street) from my housing tract. They were like butterflies flitting, backlit by the setting sun.

So, I'm pulling up some quail photos from google.
Just before the quail, we saw a roadrunner. ..
