@Izzie,
I'm sure Ike knows he is a total star.

Funny how some animals have visages that seem grumpy or benignly semi smiling, due to 'facial' patterning, as shown in all this last post's images. I'm starting to muse about how facial lines have anything to do with bird personality in reality - I assume that feeding patterns and beak lines work out in some evolutionary way. Fascinating, and, as usual, fabulous photos.

So, Iz, I think you need to do a bird book, you are very talented at this.

@Izzie,
Be still my heart. Dat Ike is some boid. I'd love to see him flying and swooping some day. (hint)

Sky is gorgeous. What a face.

Thanks for the chickens and ducks. Love 'em. Especially the mister and missus. Great shot, Izzie.

Looks like that otter is interested in the camera. Or maybe he's just a ham. Cute as the dickens.

Pharaoh cat, a relatively new semidomestic breed. It's a cross between a serval and a domestic cats. These pets can jump seven feet straight up in the air.

great trip to the island, lots of deer (or possibly the same deer) near the cottage

but first these two guys came over on the ferry with us, lots of four legged passengers but these two guys were the most personable

http://i471.photobucket.com/albums/rr73/djjd1962/100_0916.jpg

within the first hour i'd spotted this deer in the woods beside the lane into the cottage

http://i471.photobucket.com/albums/rr73/djjd1962/100_0924.jpg

saw this fellow on the road to town the next morning

tai chi and mr. fixits neighbours

http://i471.photobucket.com/albums/rr73/djjd1962/100_0954.jpg

a ruffled wood grouse, very ruffled indeed, she was worried about her chicks (they were too fast to get a picture of)

http://i471.photobucket.com/albums/rr73/djjd1962/100_0957.jpg

another of tai chi's neighbours

http://i471.photobucket.com/albums/rr73/djjd1962/100_0959.jpg

a couple of herons and a chick (the chick is right under the middle herons beak)

http://i471.photobucket.com/albums/rr73/djjd1962/100_0983.jpg

a better pick of the chick (about middle of picture, just below the tree line)

http://i471.photobucket.com/albums/rr73/djjd1962/100_0984.jpg

a couple more deer (or the same one, they don't wear name tags) on the way to town

@djjd62,
Welcome back, dj. Glad you had a good trip. You weren't kidding about the deer. Very photogenic. Nothing like a heron chick to start my day off right. Thanks for the pics.
