Two stunning shots, Francis. Merci, mon ami. A family portrait--definitely a keeper. Not sure about the birds. At first I thought boobies. Now I don't think so.

Not totally wrong, Roberta.

Boobies are Sulidae family, as Gannets are.

Here above a couple of Northern Gannets (Morus Bassanus).

The gannets are gorgeous. As are the lynxes (am I right that they're lynxes?) Thanks, again.

This is a picture I took of a bird in Cabo Mexico. Sorry, I can't seem to find out what type it is. Maybe some type of flicker?

Hi TTH, Thanks for the photo. It could be a flicker, but I'm not sure. Maybe someone else will happen along who can tell you for sure.

That would be a Cactus Wren, Arizona's state bird. If you got got a chance to watch it much you probably noticed that it looked in on under and around everything in the area, all the while making a raspy scolding sound.

Here is a photo by Tom Ryan showing one in a cholla cactus which is it's preferred nesting site and from which it gets it's name.
