It's real, in my opinion, because the facebook source has been sharing pictures for years and has no history of doing fake pictures.

I went back and looked again. The source of my pic was not the one I thought it was. I can't verify if it's real.

This is a puggle (baby Echidna), I'm not completely sure it's real but if it isn't it's extremely close, it differs little from this photo (source Taronga Zoo)

If it's real it's not a platypus - they have five claws.

It's amazing how many fake echidna and platypus pictures there are out there.

I just spent ten minutes looking and I couldn't find a single picture of a playtpus puggle/hatchling from a source I'd trust. The youngest I can find is a four month old juvenile (when they start swimming) and they just look like a small platypus. Like:
