I made something stupid!

Hi everybody, I think I made something stupid! I want to find out why the

computer administrator block something from coming to the light like the

regedit command. So, I started my little adventure and ended up

disabling my account and administrator acount. Lucky that I enabled the

guest acount before this. Now, I lost approximately everything useful,

and I tried to get my Ad back but in vain. I did some reading before I

decided to post here, feels awkward.Even the net I cannot log on! You

would ask me how did you manage to post here, I'd say because I have

to windows installed. After all I'm smart.

Thanks for any idea.

The Help Desk is for help on the Able2know website only. This topic, in the Computers forum, was the place to ask about problems with Computers. I'm sorry no one has come forward with a solution. Thank you.

Sorry I didn't see this earlier. Shouldn't be a big deal to fix.

Power off the machine, wait about 30 seconds, then power back on. Boot into Safe Mode (usually, continually tapping F8 as the restart process begins will get you to the Boot Menu; use your keyboard up/down arrows to select "Safe Mode" then hit ENTER).

Once in safe mode, go to Start>Run. In the dialogue box that opens, type (without the quotes) "control userpasswords2" (all lower case, and note the space between control and userpasswords2) and click "OK" or hit ENTER. That will bring up the User Accounts utility. The first account listed should be "Administrator" and should be highlighted, if not, click or use your keyboard up/down arrows to select and highlight it. In the lower section will be a panel now labeled "Password for Administrator", in that panel will be a bar labeled "Reset Password" - click that bar, and in the dialogue box that pops up, enter and confirm a new password (make sure its one you will not forget) then click "OK". If prompted, confirm you want to reset the password, then click "Apply", then click "Enter" to exit to your desktop. Reboot. That oughtta do it.

Hi, jespah. Thanks Letty for trying the best for me . You are a wonderful

lady

Hi timberlandko, you are the man of every hour. You see, the problem

isn't about retrieving a lost password, it's worse than that. First, I'm sorry

that I didn't get that clear in my thread. Here is the thing, In the

control panel, user accounts, there were three accounts, one for the

administrator, one for me, and one for the guest. I don't know why I did

this, but I went to my computer, right click it and from the dropdown

menu I chose " manage". This took me to computer management, from

there I went for local users and groups / users. In this area, all accounts

were there. I right click administrator, chose properties, and from there I

ticked the option this account is disabled. I did the same for my account.

Now I have only the guest account which I enabled first, but as said it has

very limited privilage. Even the internet I can't access.

Now the question is how can I get my ad back, it is like it's gone for ever!

Maybe it's hidden somewhere.

sorry for the troubles there A2K help team.

Try opening the User Accounts utility in safe mode again, this time selecting "Add", then follow the prompts to create a new Admistrator account.

After choosing the safe mode option, I ended up with a blue screen but

there is no guest account or any account to click on and get into the safe

mode!

I think that I couldn't log on the safe mode because the limited access I

have using guest account Rolling Eyes

I gotta go do some realworld stuff for a while - I won't be able to get back to you real soon, but I will get back to you soon as I can.

Are you saying the machine will not boot into safe mode? How are you trying to get it to boot into safe mode, step-by-step, and what happens at each step?

The system boots in the safe mode no problem, but I end up with a blue

screen that has xp professionsal asking me to log using an account ( the

usual one that everybody has before logging to his computer) . The

problem is that I don't see any account that will enable me to get isnide

the safe mode! not even the guest account. Only a blue screen like a wall

then I have to boot it again with normal windows. So, it's useless because

I can't log in.
