That makes sense. To see intelligence takes... intelligence. Twisted Evil

(And in case it isn't clear, that was a joke, and not at all intended to insult your intelligence for real)

Good post. Unfortunately, too many aethists actually do do these things that are supposedly myths- the same goes for religious groups.

Stereotypes exist for a reason, but they never apply to everyone.

Your post about the alternative way of defining god has been her for months. Yet I didn't see it until now. I just wanted to say that this is very similar to how I think of god, if not downright identical. Smile

I have another name for it though; the Living Everything.

There is a formal name for it - Gaia Theory

Timber

As far as I can tell, Gaia theory deals with the earth as one living organism. What I am talking about is the entire universe as one living "organism".

I admit that I didn't read all the contents of those links, so it is possible that Gaia theory refers to the same thing I'm thinking about. After all, it is not difficult to see how things far out in space have a direct impact on life on earth. The most obvious object being the sun.

Are you saying they are not myths?...which ones?

What do you mean by "too many atheists"? Do you mean "most" ?

This brings up an interesting point. Maybe we only see intelligence in people who share our beliefs.
