How young are we talking here? Teenagers should by all means view some porn.

I am not saying that teenagers or
anyone else shud do anything
.

By my reading of the Constitution,
government was never granted authority
to interfere with any citizen 's right to read whatever he wants.
I do not see that government shud get involved in telling anyone
what not to read.

If u disagree,
then Y not tell Minipb what the bad results will be,
as he asks ?
He 's only asking for specifics.

For instance,
if we were asking this question about drinking alcohol,
u cud say something about liver disease, etc.

My argument is essentially that any concept like "childhood" or"pornography" relies on social consensus. Both of these have historical origins and have been refined and altered over time, but ther essential point for this argument is that they are antithetical. To argue to the contrary is like arguing that "war" is "benign" irrespective of refinements of definition of those two terms (as individuals like Hitler no doubt did). It is invalid to argue from personal experience (like drinkers who might avoid alcoholism ) because semantics has a statistical and sociological basis not a psychological one.

Children should not look at porn because it gives them a false sense of hope that something wonderful like that may happen to them someday which sets them up for a huge disapointment when beautiful lipstick lesbians don't want to blow them and rim them at the same time while fingering each other.

I believe it's cruel to build up a child's hopes and then dash them to the ground.

Should children watch porn?

I've just come out of a Crown Court sentencing hearing where some "sicko", as Nickfun aptly named the type of person that would allow this to happen, just received four years for sexual offences against minors. His main "grooming" method was to get kids into his home and show them porn magazines and films.

So no, they definitely shouldn't be allowed to watch porn. It should remain an offence, and rightly so.

Please note that size or coloration
of font is NOT shouting,
but rather setting MY writing apart from yours,
and stressing different points.

In your opinion,
wud it have been somehow BETTER
if the offender had just PAID them cash ?

I 'm trying to follow your reasoning here.

Are you saying that IF it is unlawful FOR A CHILD TO BUY PORN,
then an adult sexual predator
will not be able to use porn as bait
to lure a child for purposes of sexual perversity ?

or are u saying that if it is illegal for a child to see porn,
then an adult sexual predator will NOT show porn to the child,
because of the predator 's impassioned desire to obey the law ?

With all respect,
I believe that I detect a non-sequitur,
insofar as a 3rd party becoming involved.

Technically, minipb did not inquire into
the pros n cons of rape or sodomy;
RATHER, he asked as to the effects of a child seeing porn.

During MY childhood,
NO one showed me any porn.

If I wanted it,
I had to go and buy it like a newspaper
and take it home.

Will u offer your opinion
of specificly WHAT ill effects
will ensue upon a child seeing porn ?

( alone in his ez chair, at home ? )[/color]

Minipb 's question is: WHAT will happen
to the kid if he sees the porn ?

Point of information, Nick:
Historically, which has been SAFER for kids
( in terms of immunity to sexually transmitted diseases,
or in terms of liablilty to paternity litigation )

1. REAL vaginas ?

or

2. looking at fotografy ?
