Well, they maybe avoid singing about snow, reindeer and bleak midwinter stuff, but with a few adaptations, they get by.....
To the tune of Jingle Bells.....altogether now.....
Dashing through the bush,
In a rusty Holden Ute,
Kicking up the dust,
Esky in the boot,
Kelpy by my side,
Singing Christmas songs,
It's summer time and I am in
My singlet, shorts and thongs.
Oh, jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Christmas in Australia
On a scorching summer's day
Jingle bells, jingle bells
Christmas time is beaut,
Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a rusty Holden Ute.
Engine's getting hot,
Dodge the kangaroos,
Swaggy climbs aboard,
He is welcome, too.
All the family's there
Sitting by the pool
Christmas day, the Aussie way
By the barbecue.....
Bing Crosby first recorded Irving Berlin's "White Christmas" in 1942, for the movie "Holiday Inn". The recording proved so popular, and Decca Records was having to press so many copies to meet demand, that the metal master disc was showing significant wear by 1946.
In May 1947, Decca had Bing recut the song so the original master could be retired. The 1947 version is the one we still hear today.
Worldwide, Bing Crosby's recording (both versions combined) is the biggest selling single of all-time, with sales in excess of 50 million copies.
Thanks to digital restoration technology, we can once again enjoy Bing's original recording of this perennial favorite. From 1942, the Voice of Christmas...
Great original song Butryflynet and somewhat decent polished video. It's a shame that it seems it was recorded by a fifth grader for its school play.

Stumbled onto this cheesy bit of French pop.
