I climbed the stairs
Did not want to
Walked down the hall
Tried to stop myself
At the bedroom door , i heisitated
Fighting for control
Opened the door and went in
i can't stop now
Slowly i undressed and got into bed
Please help me
Drifting off to sleep
Hope is fading
Now the dreams come to take me away...
Now the nightmare begins...
Welcome to A2k Palehorse.
Your poetry sounds like MY night.
(sometimes)
When nightmares come regularly, it is unavoidable to dread going to bed and your poem makes that feeling very real. I look forward to reading more.
Hi Palehorse,
These must be some scary dreams! I enjoyed this because it juxtaposes a normal night time routine against sheer dread and terror. I can imagine the weird struggle going on here, someone carrying on "normal" activities to cover for their unhinged mental condition! Been there, done that!
