I need help. I need a social security card. I dropped out of middle school and ran away from home when I was younger. I dont know where I was born and from what I know my quardians have past away. I don't have a drivers lisence or anything. I lived on the streets or where ever I could. But I need to get a SS card now so I can start a real life, but I dont know how to get one, or to find my birth certificate. Can anyone help me, please.
Sincerely,
Alexandria
If you know what county you live in, you can get your birth certificate and from there, contact the Social Security Administration to get a replacement for your Social Security Card. If you are under 20 years of age, you may already have a social security number. There has been a trend for more than 20 years to issue a card to all newborns, and it has become more common over time.
If you truly never had a social security account number issued in your name, head on down to the nearest U.S. Post Office, and get an application. That's how i got mine . . . in 1965.
I would suggest you immediately contact a social services agency in your location, perhaps one specializing in aiding juvenile runaways - whether civil or religious prolly doesn't much matter from a starting standpoint; referal to the appropriate authorities is what you need. You've got a problem that requires specialized, professional help. Yours is not a unique problem, but it is a complex problem of major significance - the sooner you get on it, the better.
The Red Cross is very good about tracing missing family members.
Perhaps they could also help you trace a missing family.
Good luck.
Social Security Card?
Dear Mr. Sentanta,
I know what county I am currently in, but how do get a birth cert. from there if that is not where I was born?
Sincerely,
Alexandria
Go to your local SS office and explain the situation with them. They have to help you. That's their job.
send me 500.00 for 750.00 I'll throw in a drivers license.
Hello, it sounds as though you need some real help. Wherever you are you should try to find a local mission or maybe a church and tell them your situation so they get you to the proper help. Good luck
