When I try to connect to MSN using GAIM, I get "Unable to connect" from "messenger.hotmail.com".

I can login to WM no problem, but I cannot figure out what server WM is using for authentication.

Can anyone shed any insight? Thanks in advance.

Mebbe you should have a bit of patience; A2K isn't a chatroom or IRC channel. Perhaps also, just a guess on my part, but mebbe This could be related to your issue.

You're prolly best advised to try Here for knowledgeable discussion of and possible solution to the problem you report.

Seems to be a firewall issue. Why a company would block WM and not AIM is beyond me, but that is what they do.

Oddly, the new "Live Messenger" was able to establish chat sessions, but was unable to detect online status, so you never knew if your buddies were there or not without IM'ing them.

LM must use a different port or something, not sure why or how that worked.
