DEAD AS A DOORNAIL
Jacob Marley came to visit in the evening
Looking better than before though just as dead
No chains of ledger, money box, and till
Were bound about him and I wondered
No need he said for that, they're all online
Then now you're free! at that he howled
A howl comprising Pain and Loss and Woe
He opened wide his ghostly cloak and showed me
Blackberries, cell phones debit and credit cards
These he said these are now my shackles
These the ties that bind my soul to Hell
I looked beyond in search of further spectres
Of present past and Christmas yet to come
But reading my eyes regard he softly murmured
Nah no more these days I work alone
First class work, George.
Thank you, kind sir.
It was fun to do.
Excellent! It was fun to read as well.
Ye done yerself proud, boy. Good reading.
That's great George, can I send it to a couple of friends?
Hello George
I enjoyed reading this
The way you ended it is spot on
Also your Mark Twain quote
(-nothing's changed it seems)
Endy
Thanks, everyone.
I'm [sniff] overwehelmed.
Yes, Green Witch, I'd be honored.
