Someone told me that it is possible (cheaply) to buy something that will transfer vinyl to P.C.?
How is this done - can someone explain (in lay-woman's terms)?
How much is the equipment?
Can you recommend a particular product?
Thank you

Are you talking about music?
Yes, music, DD.
Thanks Ellpus, bit pricey though?

It's the only one (I think?)
I'll have another look see.
The thing is, if it's new technology, it WILL be quite over priced....give it six months and a few competitors on their tails, it'll be £50 or so.
Download 'em! IMO.
They won't have all those scratchy noises on them, and most (even really obscure and rare) tracks can be found on digital nowadays.
...it's just not the same!

I know! Not quite the same atmospherics going on.
....maybe you can find some digital tracks that are all scratchy and jump a lot.
if you have a turntable and reciever already, alot will depend on your pc's sound card
you can connect a line out from your reciever into the line in on your pc and using mp3 encoding software like musicmatch or jet audio you can do it with some work
dj, if I know smorgs, she'll be totally with you up until the seventh word.
there's no really easy way to explain it to a non tech person
and it's really time consuming as well
Actually, I only got to this bit:
Quote:if you have a turntable
...well I am blonde!

When hamburger and I were discussing this last winter, you could already get the required software for about $50 Canajun.
...VINYL TO CD...
have a look at this . you get a free trial period , might be worthwhile .
i saw a "converter" at staples for about CAN$ 50 .
there a online reports on the suitability of the various methods .
