I always took NCL, but they made me mad so this time I am trying Princess.
NCL had nice cruises and the staff was great. It was the reps that annoyed me, bad enough to tell them to take a flying leap. I was patient at first. After 4 cruises and 4 screw ups where money was concerned, then I finally got pissed.

I did the Carnival Cruise just this last October ... Grand Turk, Caicos (Private Island), and Bahamas. Did eat and drink too much ... but really enjoyed living five days w/o a schedule!

It is nice not being on a schedule, and now a lot of the ships have "regular" restaurants that you can go to instead of the scheduled meals.

I was going to go on the panama canal 19 night one last year, but it was a new boat being built in Germany and a freak storm happened and damaged the ship. They couldn't fix it in time so the cruise line cancelled the trip. I really wanted to go on that one real bad. Oh well, I have been lucky to have been where I have so I really have no complaints.

Free style dining is what NCL calls it. I think it is great. That way you can work around what you want to do.

Carnival had the choice of freestyle or sitdown. The group we were with was a hoot, so most times we did the sitdown. We came sooooo close to getting kicked out of there numerous times!

How do you get kicked out of the dining room? What in the heck did you do?
Sounds like something I should try.

That Panama canal trip sounds nice, but I don't know if I could handle being waited on hand and foot for 19 days...... Yeah, I could!

That sounds like fun, it really sucks to get stuck at a table with a bunch of people that are all uptight and don't know how to have fun.

What do you mean getting waited on hand and foot? I don't make them make my bed or really clean the room. I do it myself. I usually eat the pizza or grab a sandwich if I don't go in the dining room. See, I am low maintenence.

Chips are great in the middle of tuna sandwiches also.

Mornin' Cowgirly!
We were a bit rowdy ... the table next to us had a bunch of stiff shirts and they constantly complained about how much fun we were having. The ladies dropping their tops probably didn't help our cause!
