Here is a picture of the area that I live in. This is the mountain where I have a 1 acre full view, private road, all utilities in, surrounded by old growth cedars, had a 4 bedroom septic installed, didn't build a house yet because deer live there. I go feed them sometimes.
This is my favorite mountain. When I fly out I try to sit on the side of the plane so I can see it and then depending on where I am flying to, I like to see Mt. St. Helens also.

Sorry, I just had to do that. I love the sight of her.

Morning fluoz,
It is going to be a great day for me. It is raining (it's WA, it is suppose to rain), I got good news from the US Mint, good news from the WA State Lottery, good news from the IRS. I think today is a very good day, until I get chewed out by my doc, but I will look at the bright side, at least I have one to chew me out. Very Happy

Did you see what the mint put out and people were on pins and needles to get it?

I was going to order 10 (the limit), but figured my spouse would not be happy so I ordered one. I tried to tell him what was going to happen, but he didn't believe me. It did happen and it made the news too. Now he wishes I ordered 10. Oh well, bright side, I got one. Smile

I started as a kid in the 50's ... dad gave us some money and we would go to the local stores and ask if they wouldn't mind checking their change for coins minted before 1940. We had a lot of fun with it and it just stuck with me. In the 50's you could easily find stuff from the early 1900's and occasionally an Indian Cent from the 1800's. I'm not a big collector of current U.S. Mint offerings ... most of my stuff is 1800's and early 1900's.

What is the current U.S. Mint offering that's causing a stir? Very Happy

Oh, they are not offering anymore. It sold out in one day. I put my order in that very day. It is the American Eagle 20th Anniversary Gold 3 Coin Set.
They are all one ounce. One is proof, one is unc, & last but not least is the reverse proof (they have never done this one before-reverse proof). The reason it caused a stir is they only minted 10,000. Dealers weren't even aware of it. The cost from the mint is $2614.95
I have gotten offers of over $5,000 to sell mine already. I know they are selling on Ebay for that and above. I am not selling mine.

I started collecting coins when I was a kid also, nothing special, just the common stuff. Then about 9 or 10 years ago I started buying Morgan silver dollars, three or four a year. The problem is that I've got all the common less expensive ones and the ones I'm missing start at several hundred dollars each. So if you're looking for a christmas gift for me.....

You should see my collection. It takes up 2 safes. I love looking at them. The platinum is the most striking to see, especially the proof.

TTH, I bought one set of the anniversary set silver coins, I'm kicking myself now because I should have purchased the maximum number. I think that they were around $125/set.

We've been buying the American Eagle dollars since they started minting them. We give them to our kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews for Christmas every year. They make nice gifts and everyone seems to appreciate them.

This is starting to sound like an ad for the U.S. Mint Laughing Laughing Laughing

Like I said, I have a few of these but most are dollars and halfs from the early, middle, and late 1800's. Just love the feeling of history in these! Very Happy

The one that is my favorite is the one ounce silver eagle 2001 recovered from the World Trade Center vault. Not that thing that is on tv. These are the ones that were taken by Wells Fargo (I believe) straight to PCGS and were graded. Now those are harder to get and cost quite a bit.
I am very patriotic so it is a personal thing to me.
My dad was in WWII and was shot twice so he has 2 purple hearts. That is what I care about. His medals, my moms books from Germany. She even met Hitler. My dad already gave me his WWII helmet, which means more than any amount of money. He plans to give me all his military items because he knows I care the most. He even has a Japanese Samurai sword. Back then you could bring that stuff back with you. Since I am the youngest of 5 I feel honored he is going to give that to me.

Yep, close to that I believe, and now are worth more. They minted 250,000 of those. That is why I went for the gold with the mintage of 10,000.
