Hello!
My name's Mark and I just signed up. I'm in a heavy metal band in which I write most of the lyrics, so I figured I'd start by sharing them.
This song is called As My City Burns.
The fire burns high
The rivers cry
The sky glows red with war
Take us apart from the inside
Nowhere to run and hide
As the soldiers break down my door
Watch my world fall apart
"Take them down"
Blood flows through the streets
"Into the ground"
See my city burn
"Say a prayer"
Nowhere to turn
"Kill, don't care"
When you read my name in the news
Will you give a f_ck who I was?
Shrug it off and live your life
Who cares what war does?
You won't feel the pain I did
As the napalm burnt my flesh
You'll relax and watch TV
The stars and stripes know best
I'm just collateral damage
In a fight for your economy
Don't care if I live or die
You didn't even know me
Your keepers of peace
Bring malicious hate
Do what big brother says
"Destroy this f_cking place"
Fighting for a lost cause
Justify the ends before the means
Wipe out a culture
To fuel your war machines
Watching my world fall apart
"Take them down"
Blood flows through the streets
"Into the ground"
See my city burn
"Say a prayer"
Nowhere to turn
"Kill don't care"
If this war ever ends
Will you come to my grave?
Say a prayer for me
And the sacrifice I made?
Or will you stay at home?
The house my blood built
Live in the time of "peace"
Never feeling a bit of guilt

Is CRAZY.
I really liked that poem. Welcome, dude.
Really good. Strong imagery.
