Satan's Great Plan

I read today that the difference between shiites and sunnis, boiled down to it's lowest common denominator, is that in 632 AD when Muhammed died, there was a disagreement over whether Ali the son in law or Abu the partner should lead the faith. For this, these ass holes have been slaughtering each other all this time. My first thought was "What a bunch of barbaric ignorant f*cks, which btw I still believe.

Then another word entered my mind, "The crusades" and I realized the Christian faith is no better.

Politics and religion. The spawn of Satan. Period. Jesus wept. Mohammed as well. Also Buddha, and don't forget Yaweh. What a perversion we are as a species.

Christianity has had it's share of internecine sectarian madness as well. Suppression of the Anabaptists, the Albigensians and the Huguenots, to name but a few. And for much the same type of picayune nonsense.

The fault, I suspect, lies not with the society but is apparently inherent in the nature of religion.

Nah, it's bigger than that. It's inherent in the nature of man.

Judaism isn't any better. The Christian anti-semitism started out as conflicts between Jewish sects of Essenes, Sadduces and the Pharisees. Jesus the head of the Essenes got crucified, the Essenes then became known as Christians and the rest is history. By the way the Pharisees are a local variant of Zoroastrianism. The Persian Emperor Cyrus let the diaspora Jews return to Jerusalem on condition they practise monotheism with many of the concepts of Zoroastrianism but with their own god Yahweh. All the kosher laws come from Zoroastrian Vendidad

Protties and catholics, you ignorant ursus.

Slaughtered each other for centuries after the reformation...not to mention the years when both slaughtered heretics.
