I have been chanting for 25 years. I could not imagine anything else giving me this much joy or appreciation for life.

Do you use those 108 beads when you chant?

Indeed I do. The 108 beads are formed in the shape of a human being. You will notice the head, arms legs and torso. The 108 bead represent the 108 desires. We fold them into the infinity sign to signify the eternity of life. And while chanting we put our fingers together to symbolize the oneness of the ten worlds. But the beads themselves have no inherent power. They simply help you to concentrate.
