Is something wrong with my computer -- or is A2K acting very persnicity?

When I sign on now -- I always get "0" new messages.

Earlier I was getting 900+ -- but almost all of them were old.

Whass up?

When I tried to access A2K, I was asked for my name and password (which I've forgotten). I thought I was being locked out. ;( c.i.

Dern you guys are a tough crowd.

Would it make ya feel any better if I told you that in that brief intermission the forum time was fixed and that email updates are back?

The reason why both teh who's online and other session based things are wacky is because remember you alll were here tomorrow. :-) So now that I set the date back and the time for all the posts back you have seen them.

:-)

BTW, the password was so that I could do the work. Things will be odd until the real date passes the fake date but we have avoided a server reinstall and avoided an additional 24 hours of downtime.

So does that mean we DID NOT blow up the record for most members online at one time today?

PDiddie. As soon as I get off work I will reduce that field in the database to the correct number.

dlowan,

No I didn't use up that whole 24 hours on the Aussies but don't tempt me! :-)

I wonder when anyone will notice the only lingering side effect of the server issues. That all the posts since the server time went wacky till now were reset to a specific time. Over 1,000 posts are stamped as having been posted at the same time...

Craven, My post was not a complaint. If anything, I was just mystified. You know by now, we greatly appreciate everything you're doing for this site. Thank you. c.i.

I noticed it, figured it was just a result of the downtime and time change. It'll work itself out.

Don't worry CI. I'm happy, the server came very very close to needing a complete reinstall of every single bit of software on it.

As it stands the only issues that will persist is that the time on the posts between yesterday and today were permanently set differently.

I will write up an explanation of it all later on.

But because deb is too fun to tease I will be reinstalling Apache tonight. he he It should only take about 15 minutes though.
