she does not hold her hand
but girl does not understand
why she has let go
along time ago
and why her mommy never came back
how this small childs lacks
from her mommy she will miss
her mothers sweet warm kiss
that used to light up the childs day
but now her mother dismisses her away
the small child left behind
with her teddy bear intwined
in her small fingers
her mothers scent lingers
in the air
which the girl is unaware
of her mommys actions.
the different reactions
of her mother good bye
made the girls teddy bear cry
for he was aware
of the dispair
when the mother was to leave
snd the mother made the small girl let go of her sleeve
she walked out of her and the teddys life
that her mother was the cause of the grief and strife
she held on the the bear
with the tender loving care
that she herself
had not felt.
I too had a bear I cherished once and believed that I could smell my unknown mother in his fur
Your poem brought that smell back to me for a few seconds
Keep writing
Peace,
Endy
