I have a few different questions I need answered.
First, I have a court order for custody with my ex boyfriend. I have physical custody, primary residency. I have to stay in a certain county.. How can I get that changed so I can move, and still keep my son. Would work circumstances help that, like say I got a better job in another county, that I couldn't get here, and don't/can't travel too far, but want the job, and need to move closer?? Would that work for constituting change, and ability to move to another county?
Also, my current boyfriend has tried/failed to get custody of his 2 children from their mother who couldn't take care of anything if you paid her. we have proven she's done wrong, and doesn't care for the children, she neglects them, and she still wins... Any advice would be much appreciated.. Thank you

My advice is - go to a NY lawyer and ask him or her what you asked us. This is a custody matter. Isn't it important enough to spend a few bucks so that you're sure you have the right answer?
Of course it's important, I was just seeing if I could get some advice. If I had the money to get a lawyer right now, I would..

Welcome to A2K--or have you posted here before?
I may be wrong, but I'm getting the impression from your post that your only reason for leaving your present county of residence is that you want to be further away from Zack's father.
Is this impression accurate?
No, that isn't the reason at all. I am not trying to hinder his father's visitation. I was on a few years ago, under zacksmom.. I just want to try to better myself, and have a better life for my family. There are no jobs worth anything where I live, and if I can get a better job somewhere else, why shouldn't I be able to live closer as well?? It's an hour away from where we live now, I have even been willing to meet his father halfway..
Because of the custody issue, I think you'd be wise to find a job and then petition the court for permission to move.

Try Legal Services:
http://www.lsny.org/AboutUs.cfm?pagename=AboutUs If they don't go to your area, call them anyway and ask who they know in your area. You need a lawyer in order to get this petition out and give it a chance of being granted.
