what's up with the forum time?

On my screen, its saying "forum time is Friday, June 13 - 1:20 a.m." where I am it's Wednesday, June 11th, at 5:20 p.m. Did I slip into a parallel universe or twilight zone, or something? My time settings on my profile haven't changed, and have always pretty much reflected accurately.

Snood: Evidentally Craven is doing whatever Craven does to keep this place running. On the other hand, it could all be a conspiracy.
We all know about it but you don't.
Could you let us know who won the daily double at Saratoga on Thursday. Thanks.

pueo, you may think you are in the same time zone as the aussies, but they are always ahead. Myself, I think they're already getting ready for Christmas.

To fix this I will have to phase the real date back in. I'll be doing it at night (US time) so over the next few nights Aussies and nightowls won't be able to post.

You're evil Craven.
You're doing it so dlowan won't get to post until 2004 Australian (twilight zone) time.

He he he. Nah, I just overdid it when I was trying to fix the problem with posting today. I set the time about 24 hours ahead and realized only after the fact that it means 24 hours of no posting. So now I'll stay up late and phase it in.

Aussies got the bum luck, they are on at a time when there is the fewest people.

Well I'll try to do it when nobody is online. If I wait till about 2 AM my time and set the server back a few hours most won't notice.

Then I'd have to repeat this about 6 times.

If the server kernel is patched before then there might be one long strech instead of the phasing. The more I do at night the less downtime later on.

I can put up a different forum for use during the downtime though.

I'll figure it out later.

Data cleaning: Do you gotta reset the dates on today's posts,
before correcting the system clock?

update POSTS set postDate = postDate - "35 hours"
where postDate > "Wed Jun 9, 10:32am"

I was thinking of just running some sql on the board but I REALLY don't wanna do it on a live databas eof this size.

One thing I learned is that yoying with a DB of this size means things that normally work can go very wrong.

I am already toying with that SQL on a test database that's about 1/2 this size. If it works I'll do it here.
