Quote:By the way, snapdragons do not symbolize deception, they symbolize protection of the beholder from deception and deceit.
Make your confirmations if you like.
So are you going to edit the poem then?
okay Leena,
i did some online research and at one website it says their origin and meaning is not known. at another place i got the following info:
''Snapdragons are an old decorative flower, widely used by the Romans. From its origin in southern Spain the cultivated form was spread throughout the whole Roman Empire. Nowadays remnants of this original population which all belong to the species Antirrhinum majus are found among Roman remains like temples in southern France, Malta, and Italy. The flower, also called "gracious lady" stands for deception. ''
other places indicate they also mean : strength and desire...
but as i can't find it to mean.. ''protection of the beholder from deception and deceit. ''
so i'll not change my poem...i actuallyfound the 'first' meaning in a magazine...
