I have burned my DVDs with DivX and they will play on my computer with Windows Media Player but they will not work in my home DVD player. Does the type of file I have downloaded have to do with this? What can I do to make this work? This is my first time!! Sad

Computer video files (DivX, AVI, mpeg, etc) are not the same as the files used by a stand-alone DVD player. First thing you've gotta do is convert the files. Software is available - websearch "convert mpeg to DVD" and/or "convert DivX to DVD". Before selecting an app, do some research; read reviews, visit user forums, that sorta thing, and experiment with free trial versions before picking one to buy.

That's the good news. The bad news is that you likely will be disappointed with the video and audio quality of the converted material - particularly if you're going to be playing them over a moderately large TV - say, anything 25" or larger.
