You look lovely, Eva. I agree about her facing the text - good idea!
Just like all children, Avatars should be seen and not heard
Eva wrote:mac11 -- you mean you didn't choose yours simply because it was Botticelli, and one of the most beautiful things ever painted?! I was going to choose that one until I found out you'd already taken it. If you ever tire of it, I'm next! Meanwhile, the scarlet rose will have to do. I chose that one because it closely resembles a certain rose in my garden, and because I needed to clear up confusion over my gender in "Lola's Salon."
Side note: I originally signed in as "Visitor," just checking out the site, thinking that if I decided to stay I would change it later. Then I found out I couldn't change it...(sigh)...and by that time, Lola & others had decided I should be called "Viz." I can live with that.
I have a hard enough time with names - oh well just a learning curve!
I do like the avatar swapping
Me neither! What do I do now?
I've pm'd jespah...maybe she will know what to do.
Thanks, everyone! I feel brand new!
("Eva" was the name of an aunt, my father's sister, who died shortly before I was born. My father always said there was an uncanny resemblance between us. It's quite obvious in photos. "Eva" wasn't actually her given name...she chose it...had it changed legally as soon as she came of age. So I thought it would be appropriate if I chose that name, too.)
Yes, the avatar is saved on my computer. I just deleted it from my profile, then added it back in and...voila!...here I am.
Was that the correct way to do it?
Oh no, Eva! I can't see your avatar!
Didn't they make a movie about that? Madame "X" !
Now, why didn't I think of that, Phoenix. Perhaps it would be easier for jespah to just change my name to Madame X!
No, No, jespah! I didn't mean it! I just want my avatar back!!!
It's the Invisable Woman, oh my gawd, Eva will become a spy on the wall for Abuzz
Is your avatar saved on your computer, Eva? That's the only thing I can think of that could have gone wrong...
Ha ha ha!
Hey, it worked!
Here's a couple more for ya, in case ya run out:
Wow. Andy Warhol does Venus on the Half-Shell.
Love it. Makes her look like she's wearing makeup. Some trick, coming right out of the foam...
Hmm...a cosmetics ad. Reminds me of a comment I once read. Somebody said Botticelli would be working for Vogue magazine if he were alive today.
Well, I finally looked at this topic and read each page - very interesting! I started here with a sort of celestial esoteric avatar; went to the brown eye looking forward because it looks almost exactly like mine; finally changed to the one I have because it's eerily close to how a real black-and-white picture of me might turn out. Sometimes, it's hard to face and so I want to replace it with a beautiful one, who knows, maybe I will eventually.
Hmm, I think I remember that Sandro Botticelli threw some of his paintings on the Bonfire of the Vanities....
