I loved my avatar the second I saw the little pupster in the grape hyacinth hat. It reflects the things that make me happiest - my garden and my little dogs.

Since hamburger and mrs. hamburger took Bailey to the groomer, he looks more like my avatar than this pic of him http://www.able2know.com/forums/images/avatars/c6511aef3edb4e5c7d1fa.jpg

dys probably has my favourite avatar. CodeBorg's always makes me grin. There are a few that make me uncomfortable, and I can't figure out if it's the avatars or the posters. I've been trying to tease that out for a while.

Montana, I have the middle one resized for you. Send me a PM with your email address and I'll send the file to you.

I'm not able to see the picture in your last post. If you can send me the url (website address) for it, I'll see if I can resize that and send it to you also.

ehBeth, I've loved your avatar since the first time I saw it. It has a spark of dignified humor that makes me smile each time I see it.

Thanks so much for your help ;-) I emailed you the pic I was telling you about since you can't see it here. I know after you said you couldn't see it, I checked again and I couldn't see it either, but it suddenly came back.

LOL! Pity I do not have a scanner, since there is, at last, extant a photo of moi in a hat!

Came about at our annual team planning day, when we were asked to bring a hat symbolizing the previous year for us - and there, with me gardening straw hat on is me, with a pile of weird stuff loaded onto the hat, holding it up with both arms for dear life and grinning foolishly.

I sort of no longer notice most avatars consciously, except when people get new ones, or when new people come, or when somebody uses the same avatar as someone else, and I become highly confused.

I think they form a sort of gestalt with what other things I know about the person.

I do like my wicked, worldly wabbit, though - she certainly says things about me - but by no means everything.

Nifty new avatar Montana.

BumbleBeeBoogie's avatar
Tartarin, my avatar is of one of my favorite photographs of a Dancing Pelican, who appears to be dancing in joyous abandon.

This bird's unusual position is not a new dance or courtship ritual, but simply a private moment in the life of a preening American white pelican. Rather than laughing or singing, the wide open throat pouch demonstrates how effective a dip net it's mouth is for fishing.

By photographers Wendy Shattil and Bob Rozinski wildlife photo gallery.

What is it about the ladies and horses? Both my wife and our daughter are crazy about them. Myself, I'm completely neutral.

Lots of mens love 'em, too.

I just think they are so BEAUTIFUL - and riding is so much fun, when you ain't falling off!

Just being in communion with another animal intelligence, in the way you are with a horse - and the pleasure of the physical feelings of their motion and moving with them - and being up high, so you can see lots of things, and the sounds of their hooves and the jingle and squeak of their gear, and the way they smell, and their sensitivity and humour - and, like I said, their beauty.

I mean, an animal you can enjoy as a pet - and RIDE! Wow!

Ah yes, avatars.
I miss the pop eyed little fella, this one suits my purpose, because it is me, (Max and Maximom swear it is!!) and yet it isn't.

Personally,I'm ready for a change.
