I inadvertently put my laptop into "hibernate" mode and I don´t know how to get it out. When I click on "start" then "close down" the screen just blinks once and remains the same. The small window with the closing options doesn´t appear.

Pending a more decisive answer, are you able to get to the control panel? If so, look for power options, and the sub option called Hibernate. Maybe some good will come of it.

Thank you for the lead. I tried unchecking the box that facilitates hibernating, then "accept" etc., but no change. The window with the closing options still doesn´t appear.
