About Free Will with System Accuracy

I am tired of reading numerous tendentious opuses about free will. Though almost all authors are right in own way. In the sense that each of their sights by and large has the right to life as reflects any small real aspect of a problem, but within the framework of any special cases and conditions. However any of authors does not define and even does not accent these special frameworks. Therefore there is an impression that each author aspires to extend the narrow private vision to all subject and for the whole world. In result instead of unified adequate scientific representation about free will we have the big set of one-sided representations.

Obviously, the scientific concept which would summarize all one-sided representations is necessary and would provide for each found out special case the special place, a suitable niche in the general system with the precise indication of all corresponding conditions and restrictions.

Such system representation about free will became possible due to occurrence of the concept "Ring Determinism". The main idea of this concept will be, that in connection with existence of any separate material object the Nature is divided on two equal in rights in the ontological attitude independent parts, on two physical under - worlds, possessing by the special determinism (an internal ring determinism of a subject and a usual determinism of an external world). Due to a special kind of an internal determinism the object can have the special properties which have been not submitted in world around. With especial force it concerns an alive organism which has property of homeostasis and can demonstrate activity in relation to other world.

Such phenomena as will, psychics, mind, consciousness, spirit are the special properties of a human organism which could arise due to existence and development of an internal determinism. Causal and as consequence, the physical autonomy of a human organism in relation to an external world provides the same autonomy and for the mentioned phenomena. Here a root of independence of will, mind, consciousness and spirit from an external world! It is possible to tell, that the human organism is that material jumping-off place from which his will and spirit attack the external world. If the dualistic philosophy knew about it, these phenomena would not "hang" at it so helplessly in air.

The autonomy of two mentioned physical worlds, certainly, is not absolute. The worlds cooperate with each other and exchange by influences, determine each other. Therefore it is necessary to recognize, that any separate object exists in conditions of the bi-causal world, is under complex influence and the control of two worlds and two determinisms. It is possible to tell, that for an organism (and for all its special phenomena!) exist two "movers". Therefore in a result the organism and its special properties are « servants of two misters » and submit to a complex (scientists will tell - to the algebraic sum) of stimuli from two these parties.

In a case, when internal and external stimulus turn to the opposite directions (for example, self-interest dictates « You may take! », but the public morals demands « You must give back! »), wins stronger of them. In other cases their complicated interweaving takes place.

In view of the aforesaid the problem of free will appears as a problem of scale and borders of an arbitrariness internal determining source of an organism in relation to external determining source. About free will especially loudly speak in cases when internal stimulus is much stronger than external. It is obvious, that generally when stimuli are complicatedly bound, these scales and borders are always relative, therefore there are bases to speak about the limited frameworks, specific conditions or even the allowed ways of realization relatively free will.

II

Everything looks simply enough while you examine a human body as a certain inseparable integrity. However in a reality within the framework of an organism exists a lot of the subsystems having a certain functional autonomy and insularity: blood, neurohumoral, trophic, respiratory, secretory, protective and so forth. Here it is necessary to add both psychics, and consciousness. In a basis of functional isolation and autonomy of each such subsystem the fact of physical existence of the corresponding closed causal cycle in bowels of an organism lies. So together with a complete determinism of the person private determinisms of subsystems operate on this field.

Here the philosophy should make the next step on a way of detailed elaboration of knowledge: to consider a human organism as the complex of material subsystems controlled by compound system of "movers". Such crushing of determinism is capable to confuse everybody. Separate authors for a long time made attempts to describe a problem of «free will» from a private position of separately taken subsystems, choosing any one of "movers". As the result we have a today's extremely confusing situation.

The causal autonomy of each of subsystems provides for it the certain local freedom. Especially brightly this freedom flashes when the stimulus of the given subsystem appears more strongly than other stimuli. For example, when the mental or conscious origin takes top above physiology. Thus illusion of full freedom of mentality or consciousness is born. Actually this freedom is always limited and transient, inasmuch as the total working stimulus of an organism is the complex and changing origin.

The concept "Ring Determinism" allows understanding this situation with system regularity and mathematical accuracy. Knowing all subsystems of an organism, it is easily to calculate total of possible variants of free will and to describe each of them in details. Actually the question is disclosure of the mechanism of formation of different philosophical interpretations of free will. Now it is possible to not read queer bulky volumes of viewy authors: the essence of their doctrines is easy for displaying on the simple diagram. Everyone can repeat without effort a chain of reasonings of known thinkers and even to find while nobody not the described variant. In a word, the manual labour gives way to the conveyer.

The beginning of this systematic ordering already was made in our brochure « Anatomy of Freedom », published in Russian. Separate copies of this brochure are in The Library of Congress (USA), in The British Library, in The New York Public Library and in some other libraries. The author plans to translate it to English as time goes by.

Potentially quite interesting but not easy to understand and your source gives no references.

IMO anyone working with systems theory needs to cross link to cyberneticists such as von Foerster and Prigogine's work on dissipative structures. See for example http://www.tcd.ie/Physics/Schrodinger/Lecture3.html

Are you do not accept the text without quotations from Foerster and Prigogine?

I'm not prepared to accept a single source without references. I would expect at least an aknowledgement of the work of my cited authors as they are major contributors in the application of systems theory to the life sciences.
