Yes! Get another dog. You have plenty of love to share. Why wait? Dogs make people happy, and you could save a life.

Yes, boomer!
She'll be so pleased if you do!
I'm trying to think of a possible name. But I bet you've thought of one already!
Mr. B DID come home and scour the house looking for the dog but he was relieved that I had not gone to get it.
Humph.
This may be a little trickier than I suspected.......
Show him the photograph again, boomer.
When it rains, it pours.
Bird, our dog, is in the ICU tonight. She had some kind of seizure. We should know more in the morning.
I could use any spare happy thoughts any one has available.....
Awww, I'm sorry, Boomer. I hope Bird comes out of this all right.
Sending happy thoughts your way, boomer. You've just hit a rough patch in the road. This too will pass.
Sending a head rub to the BirdDog, and lotsa hugs to the Boomer clan.
Boomer--
Your slop jar is full and running over.
Any news of Bird?
How is Mo coping?
How are you coping?
Hold your dominion.
Bird is back home now exhibiting only minimal wear and tear.
I'm sure that the abundance of happy dog thoughts helped. Thank you.
That seizure was just plain freaky. They don't have any idea what caused it.. All we can do right now is hope that it doesn't happen again.
I have had a friend - well, more than one actually that this happened to - but this particular friend had his dog Obi eat something toxic, possibly rat poison, something somewhere on his property. Obi was an australian shepherd of stalwart personality. Obi survived but was weird but loving ever after, poor sweets. Not that that is going on with Bird.
Twere me, I might pester the attending vet, perhaps by email, to see if (they) had any more clues or hunches. Presumably they don't, or they would have told you.
Maybe look seizure/dog up online.
A hundred years ago a child could have been having seizures and the Family Doctor would not be able to explain why.
