I like the Cowboys - so this Jerk really hits home for me. Can't believe they brought this guy in. He's worse than Rodman ever was. Rodman "shenanigan'd" his way out of several games in his career - TO is about to "shenanigan" his was out of a league.

I didn't have to see the news the last few weeks to make this conclusion, I did it the minute they announced the signing: TO is all about TO; and nothing else.

I know he has supporters, maybe still, and I encourage them to chime in. This is a serious question - think about it and tell me what you really, truly think.

I really thought about this for a while; its hard to imagine anyone being that much of a 'non - team player'. But truly, there is absolutely nothing about this guy that makes me think the Superbowl means anything to him. I'm convinced he is so in love with himself that all that matters to him is attention.

I suppose the Cowboys' idea was:

A) The Keyshawn Johnson experiment didn't work out. Terrel Owens is the same kind of receiver that Keyshawn is, only he still seems to be in his prime-the Cowboys need a possession type receiver to complement Terry Glenn.

B}) Parcells is the sternest disciplinarian in the league, many would say he bullies his players constantly. If anyone could get TO to knock it off, it would be Parcells.

C) TO is likely to be humbled by his last team cutting him the way they did. For sure, this has to be his last chance in the NFL-thereby making it more likely he'll buckle down and listen to the coach.

Personally, after what happened in Philly, I thought TO would be lucky to play in Canada this year, but apparently there are some owners who figure his talent is worth the risk. I will allow that if there is one coach in the league who could get something out of TO, it would be Parcells-but it was still unlikely.

We are finding out how unlikely it is.

This I know - he's not just going to quietly finish out his career. NFL football is the ultimate team sport; any team that picks him up is making a big mistake.

Report: T.O. attempted suicide
Police report says wideout tried to overdose himself

DALLAS (AP) -- Flamboyant Dallas Cowboys receiver Terrell Owens tried to kill himself by overdosing on pain medication, even putting two more pills into his mouth after a friend intervened, according to a police report obtained Wednesday.

The report said Owens was asked by rescue workers "if he was attempting to harm himself, at which time (he) stated, 'Yes."'

The Dallas police report said the 32-year-old Owens told his friend "that he was depressed." Details of the police report were first reported by WFAA-TV.

He's reached a level of narcissism never before seen.
Regardless of how true or how false the reports are, or what exactly the facts are, one way or another I feel certain this whole thing was another [purposeful] attention grab.

definitely.

what's up with his publicist Kim Etheredge?
last night, referring to the new contract, she said, "T.O. has 25 million reasons not to kill himself."
what a crock of ****!

i keep picturing the dallas police sitting in their office, chuckling over the erroneous report...

My guess is, they're intimate, or at least have been a time or twohundred. The way she spoke of him 'coming home from work. If true, that is a business/pleasure mix that, coupled with TOs questionable character, can only produce negative results.

Another guess is that there are two possibilities here:

1) His questionable character and her bad judgement lead them to think of a way to get TO back in the spotlight. But the sheer stupidity of such a stunt didn't settle in until a few hours later, at which time they did a 180.

2) There is actually some truth to the suicide aspect. I tend to agree with JP, 'TO loves TO too much to kill TO'. However, when you think about it, that extreme level of self-centeredness can possibly lead to a 'self-destruct'. No one could ever live up to the pedestal he puts himself on.

The Cowboys (Jerry Jones) made a very stupid decision (IMO) picking this guy up. The TO saga will never be over in Dallas until TO is no longer on the team. They have got to realize that. Philly did.
