Hi, I just recently reformatted my computer, and I stored my backups on my other hard drive that I had... so I reconnected my storage hard drive to the comp after reinstalling xp on the other hard drive, but it won't let me access it without formatting first and losing all my data... how can I get accesss to my second hard drive without formatting it to get my backups?

I presume you set your data disc (non-operating system) to slave!

Exactly.
Make sure the storage drive is set to slave if it's connected to the same cable as the windows drive.
Also if they're on the same cable then you'll have to set your Windows drive to be the master and not just auto select.
If your storage drive is connected to the other IDE channel (IDE2 cable) then you'll have to set the drive to master if it's the only thing on the cable or slave if you have a CD ROM etc... drive on there too which is set to master.
