The coast guard rescued a dog by helicopter. It is nice to know that we have all these resources and highly trained police and fire. My hubby is heading out to work. He is going to call me if we have any road closures around where I am because I have a lot to do today. He is grumpy due to lack of sleep.

I haven't been in a flood in several years, but ya need to remember just a couple of things ... water does not flow uphill, don't cross water in your vehicle, in case you ignored the previous warning, separate yourself from the vehicle if the current and depth permit ... and finally, there isn't a possession on earth worth your life!

Hope that didn't bumm ya out, but we want to keep ya here dear! :wink:

I was just so worried about friends that live by the river. My husband talked to them and they got out in time. Still don't know about their house yet. Gosh some areas are real bad. People north are saying the same thing as I did (that they have never seen it so bad). I have friends out hunting too. I know they won't try to cross any roads where the rivers are flowing over. They will just have to sit it out because those roads are already closed.

Thanks, yeah I know. I am not going out yet until the hubby calls to let me know how the roads are. I AM TAKING MY DOG AND CAT WITH ME.

I am listening to the radio. They just closed hwy 410. I don't ever recall that highway getting closed.

Flu you would say that, but those deer and bucks are pretty smart they will go to high ground. Flu that hwy 101 you were on when you were here last is closed.

I heard the news say some houses in that area are going to slide into the Pacific Ocean. Their embankments gave way early this morning.

Actually, CNN said the hunters that are trapped are "Elk" hunters (big, nasty, ugly elk). :wink:

Not surprised about Hwy 101 ... there are many low-lying spots!

I did see the news earlier on tv and it is so nice seeing people are volunteering to help total strangers. There are a lot of people needing help right now. Crying or Very sad

He is checking on road closures for me now. He said get off the computer, do the laundry and get packing. Then he realized I haven't even unpacked from my last trip. Do laundry????? He threw a load in right before he left????? Now I have to wait to even take a shower.
