yep, chewable air all around tonight.

so there was a HUGE slug in the basement.
bull slug, i guess you'd call it.
about 6" long and thick, munching on a concrete mushroom.
(i swear i'm not making this up!)

the next part here ain't for the squeamish...

first i salted it, but it kept moving.
so i poured some "air dry" powder on it.
sucker wasn't giving up, so i poured some bleach on it.
still wrigglin'!
so i added the piece of resistance: LIQUID PLUMR

i gave that slug what-fer.
feel free to follow these steps next time u need to slay a slug...

What, you people don't enjoy this humidity? I LOVE IT!

This saturday, walking back from the bar at 2:00 AM, it was so perfectly muggy and right at the edge of rain that it kept starting to turn into mist, and then it would stop and then it would start misting again...it felt like a rainforest...it was in that perfect sweet spot of humidity that I love so much.

Humidity is lovely so long as the temperature is under 70.

Up until the last few days, the humidity has been hovering between 7 and 9. Since rain clouds have been coming through, spitting a little rain here and there, the humidity has risen to 27 and this afternoon it was all the way up to 70!!! We with a swamp cooler get sticky and miserable and we don't have an air conditioner as back up. Still, the swamper is fine 99% of the time and lots cheaper than A/C.

Why does Sally want to cuddle when it's so hot? Her warm, furry little body generates even more heat.

Thank you for killing the big scary slugeroonie. <blech>

Heat index supposed to hit 100 today, with the start of a three-day heat wave, too. A/C is cranked.

RP - I hit that same wall..... several times. I spent a large portion of today in my A/Cd car. I have no gas now.

i'd be enjoying it a lot more if i didn't have to go to work.
i'm a sweaty mess by the time i get to my desk in the mornings...

we get some relief today -- 90, but they claim it'll be less humid...
