In 'puter terms, a Trojan Horse is an application which purports to be innocuous but which in fact is malicious, including but by no means limited to identity theft. Often included bundled surreptitiously with other software, commonly distributed via filesharing or links embedded within eMails or received chat/instant messages, Trojans typically both hide and protect themselves, and some can be devilishly difficult to get rid of. Another nasty habit they have is inviting other nasties to infest your system.
At any rate, suffice it to say you don't want Trojans on your system. However, without knowing what operating system you're running (and its ServicePack/Update status), precisely what security/privacy software you have installed and running, the name(s) and location(s) of the Trojan(s) your AV reported, and the exact verbatim text of your AV's error message, advising you on removal technique is gonna to be pretty near impossible.
