And thrusts the thing we have prayed for in our face,

Doesn't that "not all those who wander are lost" come from The Lord of the Rings?

Since I am struggling financially at present, I believe I have too much of a vested interest in the Parker quote to comment!

Sour grapes and all.....

When you have grapes.....make wine.....

Not sure about the quote, Deb (from LOTR) ~ I've seen it attributed to a few people. I've had it taped into a book I've had for twenty some odd years. So I dunno, kiddo.

Rae's quote:
Truly, wandering does not mean 'lost'- mostly, it is feasting.

To move steadily from one place to another, (wandering) however aimlessly; affords one no time to linger over chocolate, lattes, eclairs or sticky chips- hence, the rolling stone gathers no 'excess'.
Thus,
the feasting described is that of the spirit, through sound, touch, scents of glory...
Oh wander on dear soul...

"The further the spiritual evolution of mankind advances, the more certain it seems to me that the path to genuine religiosity does not lie through the fear of life, and the fear of death, and blind faith, but through striving after rational knowledge." - - Albert Einstein

"A man's ethical behavior should be based effectually on sympathy, education, and social ties; no religious basis is necessary. Man would indeed be in a poor way if he had to be restrained by fear of punishment and hope of reward after death." - - Albert Einstein

<Einstein's God>
"Einstein's God - Just What Did Einstein Believe About God?
Presented here for the first time are the complete texts of two letters that Einstein wrote regarding his lack of belief in a personal god."
