Just thought it would be a novel idea [Chortle] to see how far we could get with the idea of all writing a novel together. Catch is, we can only contribute 3 words each, and then the next poster must take over, so, if I may offer an opening:

You have to have that in any bad novel of this ilk.
Who said it's a bad novel, we havn't even written the first page yet and already the bad reviews are coming in...
Anyway that was 9 words and you're only allowed 3...
weight of the
various vegetarian substitutes...
I suggest consolidating the text occasionally into one post, in the interest of continuity and easy reference.
