Floopy Disk Help

Reply Sat 15 Jul, 2006 11:36 am
My camera takes floppys. Sadly enough.

I have 33 pictures on one floppy right now that , when I pop it into the floppy drive, I get a message that it is not formated.

If I format , will I lose what is on the disk?

How can I save it, if I can not format with out losing it?

If you format it you will lose the data.

I'm not sure about recovery. Can you read the data (pictures) on the floppy with your camera?

What kind of camera do you have?

If you are having the error on your camera, have you tried formatting a new, blank floppy, and trying to read that in your camera?

This is the camera.

And yes, I was able to see the photos on the camera .
There were no problems taking or saving them and I can toggle freely through them if I use my LCD.

The second it hits the computer, I get the error message.

Im not quite sure what you mean.... ?
I can read this disk on the camera fine.

Are you asking if I can save the information IN my camera and put it on a new disk?

I dont think I can do that....

If the data is being read by your camera, the data is retrievable.

I would suggest you format a new, blank floppy, and copy an image to it from your camera, and see if you can read that floppy in your computer.

Also, you need to try to read your floppy in a different floppy drive, since you may have a hardware issue on your computer.
